We weren’t no sailors, we were Army men, With a boat and a prayer, drifting’ deep in the bends. From St. Pete sand to the jungle's moan, We carved our names in the combat zone. Didn’t have no medals shined for show, Just steel-deck boots and a motor to tow. The radio crackled, the night got loud, But we ran that river like we’d made our vow.
